Pokhara, The City Of Adventure

Nepal's second city, at least in terms of tourists, Pokhara is the end point for the world widely famous Annapurna Circuit trek and the starting point for a dozen more treks through the mountains of the Annapurna range. The setting of pokhara is spectacular- the perfect pyramid of mount Machhapuchhre looms high above pokhara, reflected in the placid waters of Phewa Tal. A millpond calm lake, perfectly reflecting the snow peaks of a perfect triangular mountain and a place para gliders can enjoy above the sky of traditional village. That's pokhara.
Most people come to Nepal for rhe Himalaya and Pokhara is one of the best places to get an up close view of the peaks. From west to east the peaks that can be seen from Pokhara valley are Hiuchuli (6441m), Annapurna I (8091m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m). The dramatic Annapurna massif looms over the city and the lake. The skyline is dominated by mount Machhapuchhre, it looks taller as it is closer to the pokhara valley but actually it is a small peak of Annapurna Range. Mahendrapul is the busy market of Pokhara and at north of this there is remaining a old Pokhara where one can see the traditional homes and religious culture of pokhara. The other important sights in pokhara that one can't miss are Barahi temple, temple in the small island formed in Phewa lake, International Mountain museum, Seti River Gorge, Devi's falls and so many caves.
This paradise Pokhara is also famous for short but memorable treks around it. Visitors are suggested to make their routine for a week to see pokhara thoroughly.
