Sapta Koshi River & Wild Life Reserve




Sapta Koshi is the largest river in Sunsari district in mid eastern Nepal which flows into India to join to the Gangas.It is named as Sapta Koshi as seven rivers i.e Indrawati,Bhote Koshi,Tama Koshi,Dudh Koshi,Liku,Arun and Tomor flows together out of the eastern Himalaya.This rivers flows is controlled by the system of embahkments designed to control flooding and provide irrigation and an adjustable dam at the Koshi Barrage at Nepal,India boarder.

Sapta Koshi  reagion and Koshi Tappu Wild life reserve  is one of most beautiful place for tourist point of view.It is a favorite spot for bird enthusiasts.This reserve was established in 1976,has an area of 1756sq.km.This reserve is famous for fall grasses and patches of Sisoo forest.Beside this this place is good spot for wild baffaloes called Arna,blue ball called nilgal,wild boar,hog,bear and spotted dear.You can enjoy total 208 species of bird s like egrets,floricans,ducks e.t.c.This reserve is really famous and important for migratory birds due to its suitable climate.
